New Direction

I have decided to use this blog for a different purpose. Although I will probably still showcase hand made items from time to time (when I have a camera again.) I am going to attempt blogging in it's true sense. An online archive of our daily happenings.

A few of my favorite Andrew-isms:

"I see your FEED KATE'S!" Exclaimed loudly upon seeing me naked. Guess that is what happens to a three year olds mind upon seeing me breastfeed for a year.

"Mommy, are you my conscience?" He said this at the table for lunch after we had had a pretty rough morning. I nearly peed in my pants. He loves his Nemo movie.

"Church is where my friends are." A great testimony, I pray he can still make a similar claim as he gets older.

"Jesus is baby God." Need I say more?

I know there are more. I will think of them later and post again.

Santa's Little Helpers

A big hit with the toddler group, a double pom pom santa style hat (my husband has also been begging for one for a year now, so may also be a hit with the "young at heart.") For the little girl style, I add a touch of fun fur trim to glam it up. These hats are seemless for the sensitive head, and knit with two stands of yarn for extra warmth and stability. Usually, one size lasts for 2-3 seasons so it is money well spent! Available in all sizes from infant through adult in any color or color combination you desire. Price for the hat $15.00 plus shipping. Add fun fur trim for $2.00 (this is added to the fold up brim and the pom poms.)
Also availble and seen here, the candy cane stripe scarf ($17.00 for children sizes, $22.00 for adult + shipping) and the double eyelet poncho with fun fur trim ($20.00 + shipping.)

Warm Me Up Mommy!

My little girl does not like winter coats (big shocker!) I have made her some great ponchos instead to keep her warm and keep her hands free. The tan one is a mock cable front with hoodie, and the red one is a ripple design with boa trim. I have books to make a lot of different ones, so the sky is the limit on choices for style and color. Email me today to start yours!

Toddler Sized Hooded Towels

Live Model Not Included! Perfect for the tub or the pool.

2 for $20 (same color) or $15.00 each + shipping. Accent ribbon included. Add a matching hand towel with ribbon accent and hanging loop $5.00 each.

Jewelry Pouches

For the glam gal on the go! A totally totable jewelry holder. Take it with you everywhere! Pockets off all different sizes for your rings and necklaces (so they won't get all twisty together) and a earring post holder at the bottom. Draws up nice and small so it won't occupy much space in your bag. $14.50 + shipping each.

More On Bags

Okay, so bags have kinda taken over my life. Just ask my husband. Everytime he turns around, I am making a new one, trying a new pattern, practicing a new technique I have learned...Here are a few examples of what I have done recently. Zipper pockets, interior pockets, pencil/pen holders, key ring snap loops, you name it-I can do it! Again, pricing varies by size, fabric and options so just shoot me an email to get yours started today!

Swing Top Dress and Fancy Pants

Available in infant sizes small (13-15lb,) medium (16-18lb,) large (19-21lb) and x-large (22-24lb) for $24.00 Each dress/top is fully lined in the same fabric as the dress. Bloomers are dressed up with two rows of white eyelet trim. Pictured above in a bright pink with lime green polka dot. I have also done this set in black and cream toile, patriotic stars, and black with white polka dots, and they are all beautiful. The great thing about the swing top dress-the year you order it, it is a dress-the next year it is a great top that can be paired with leggings or jeans!

Bags! Bags! Bags!

Okay, so my newest sewing addictions are bags! It is really supposed to be a diaper bag (so says the pattern) but with a few adjustments to size, fabric, accessories, etc, it can be your anything bag. One friend ordered the super size red with white polka dots bag for her pool tote (17"tall, 22"across, 5" deep.) I'm using the denim and bandana bag for Kate's diaper bag (11"tall, 15 1/2" across, 4" deep.) The water color stripes with lime green gingham is a gift for a friend (baby due in August-same size as the denim and bandana.) I'm working on a black and cream french toile that I will use as a Sunday bag-big enough to hold my parallel version Bible, and the pockets will be great for my candy, gum, pen, et cetera (9"tall, 12"across, 3"deep.) Even these sizes can be adjusted to your personal preference.
The bags are all fully lined (including the pockets) and come with a matching tie top closure. You choose the two fabrics, or leave it up to me! Prices starting at $15.00. Each bag is custom made so pricing really depends on your fabric choice, and what size you want your bag to be! Each bag has 4 or 6 pockets (smaller bags have 4, larger bags 6) and are totally reversible. You choose if the pockets are on the outside or the inside!

Button Up A-line Jumper

This is where it all began (well, kinda!) I really wanted my daughter to have a special dress for her 1st birthday, but I wasn't willing to pay boutique prices. I made Kate the jumper, and enlisted the help of a new friend to custom make the applique (I will not be selling any dresses with the applique-sorry!) So, once I had the sewing bug back in my system Kate got a jumper for each upcoming holiday-Valentines and St. Patricks Day. Then I needed more fabric, more patterns, and more ideas, and hence, her spring and summer wardrobe tripled in a few short weeks.

The basic jumper is available in the following sizes; newborn, small (13-18lbs,) medium (18-21lbs,) large (21-24lbs,) for $13.00 and toddler sizes 18 months through 4T for $16.00.

The great thing about this jumper is that in colder months it can be worn with a turtleneck, think spring and throw on a short sleeve tee, think summer and the jumper is just as cute by itself.

Add a matching pair of bloomers to cover your sweet ones sweet cheeks for $10.00

Tie Me Up in Knots

I just couldn't resist this pattern, or the fabric! I love, love, love that the dress has no buttons, or buttonholes (my adversary in sewing) and I think it looks so cute on. Available in sizes 12 month through 4T in any fabric of your choosing, $18.00
